It’s because they still have good revenues selling FC6 and their recent games on other platforms. They are just putting on steam the games that have no more revenues (more than 2 years old). Unpack two files somewhere: FarCry2MFLauncher.exe and FarCry2MF.dll - into a separate folder or directly into the folder with the game, as long as these two files are together in one folder. Run FarCry2MFLauncher.exe: The program will automatically determine the location of the game and display it on top. Close Ubisoft Connect (fully, not just to the taskbar), then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Connect Launcher\ and delete the "cache" folder, then try launching from Steam.
